The location & view was fantastic! Friendly staff, helpful and attentive. The view from the room & the terrace was really amazing, watching the sunset over Florence. Or having a drink in the garden after a nice homecooked dinner (for a reasonable price).

Location & view was fantastic! Staff was fluent in English, kind, helpful, attentive. Easy access to Florence (15-20" bus ride). The view from my room & the terrace was wonderful, watched the sun set over Florence with an evening beverage while journaling nightly. Be mindful that in order to walk to the bus stop or up to the town of Fiesole, it is a bit of a climb for someone deconditioned or elderly but it is easily accessible by car
Narrow bathroom & bathtub might be a challenge for a larger or elderly person.

Pensione Benciste is a hidden gem: a lovely family run place to stay where the family make you feel at home. The house and location are stunning and just a few minutes away from Florence. Or go in the other direction and you are in the small town of Fiesole. Go further on and you are soon in the mountains and rural villages.

We visited the Pensione based upon online reviews that recommended this location for atmosphere and the view of Florence. I am sorry we only stayed one night. The staff were kind and helpful. They were also very understanding in a mistake I had made during the online booking procedure. We stayed for dinner and this too was a good choice with the cheese course at the end of the meal being a welcomed surprise. Having a glass of wine and watching the sunset with Florence spread out before us - it was our favourite moment of a two week trip to Italy. The day spent in Fiesole was equally favourable with so much to see in a small town. We would go back and stay at the Pensione with easy day trips into Florence by public transit or taxi. We loved our time at the Pensione Bencista!

The pensione was very well located in a quiet position over-looking Florence. There was a very convenient bus stop a short walk up the road with a frequent service into Florence. The staff , mostly family members, were friendly and helpful. There was a lovely atmosphere. The food was homecooked and excellent with good, reasonably priced local wines.

We loved the multi-generation family running the hotel, the great view and the sense of history - stones in the building are from the Etruscan era!
No real shower in our room

A simply excellent place to stay. It is on the bus route into Florence but on the hill away from the crowds. The family running the hotel are welcoming, helpful and provide a wonderful service. The food is very good and the views to die for. A marvellous trip
We loved everything
